Queen Victoria Obelisk

Queen Victoria Obelisk

Royal Victoria Park was opened in 1830 by the 11-year-old Princess Victoria seven years before her ascension to the throne and was the first park to carry her name. The obelisk, built in 1837, bears the inscription "The inhabitants and visitors of Bath to the Princess Victoria on the attainment of her majority 14th May 1837".
