After landing at Heathrow we got through immigration in 10 minutes (very lucky), had carry-on so no wait for luggage, got cash from an ATM, got a Tube Oyster Card and took the Tube to Victoria Station (changed tube lines once). Took some time to buy SIM cards for our phones, wander around a bit and eat lunch before catching our afternoon train to Bearsted. From there it was a shuttle ride to Leeds Castle.
The first night the castle dining room was closed for a wedding. We walked 1 mile to Leeds to have a very nice dinner at the George Inn. The walk to and from the pub was a great way to beat jet lag.
